Het serienummer van een Polydoruitgifte van een Belgische artiest bestaat uit 4 cijfers + prefix NH.
Bij uitgiftes van buitenlandse acts- zoals The Beatles – bestaat het serienummer uit 5 cijfers + prefix ‘NH’.
Polydor Brussel had geen eigen platenperserij / drukkerij in België en moest dit werk dus uitbesteden. De randtekst van de in Duitsland voorgedrukte Polydor labels is steeds in het Duits. Tot 1966 werden de labels van bijna alle in België uitgegeven Polydor plaatjes bedrukt bij NV SOBEDI Gent. Er werd toen nog gewerkt met eigen lettertypes die manueel moesten worden gezet in de drukkerij van SOBEDI. Zowel labels als hoezen werden in hun huisdrukkerij gedrukt. Het typische zwarte lettertype dat voor POLYDOR België werd gebruikt (tot ± 1966) komt ook voor bij andere Belgische labels zoals Olympia (huislabel van SOBEDI), RIVA Records, Ronnex, Luna Records,… en Parlophone! Allemaal gedrukt bij SOBEDI te Gent.
- Kijk ook eens naar de ‘A’ na het serienummer. We zien een klein horizontaal streepje bovenaan (linker zijde van het label).
- Typisch voor de Belgische NH persingen: het serienummer staat – vanaf NH 3010 – twee keer op het label tussen 1962 en eind 1965/begin 1966. In kleine cijfers links en in iets grotere cijfers rechts op het label. Het geschreven vinylmatrixnummer is meestal ook van hetzelfde handschrift.
- De titel van het nummer staat altijd in hoofdletter. Bij Duitse persingen is dit niet zo.

Polydor Belgium had no pressing plant or printing office in Belgium and had to outsource this work. The label perimeter text of the in Germany printed Polydor companylabels is always in German. SOBEDI at Gent, manufactured all the Polydor singles in the sixties and printed the titles, performer and the Belgian serial numbers on the Polydor company labels. Until 1966, almost all Polydor singles were pressed at NV SOBEDI Gent, Belgium.
The typical black font used for POLYDOR Belgium (until ± 1966) also occurs with other Belgian labels such as Olympia (Sobedi’s house label), RIVA Records, Ronnex, Luna Records,… and Parlophone. All manufactured at SOBEDI Gent, Belgium.
- Take a look at the ‘A’ after the serial number. We see a small horizontal dash at the top (left side of the label).
- We see two serial number on the label
- The title is always printed in capitals
